Our Experience

At first, MUN was a group of students with little experience, who with the help of teachers, classes, preparation, and attending MUN national conferences have become more experienced delegates, and overall more informed students. This year we decided to use our experience in Costa Rica and go to our first international MUN conference in Panama. the experience was wonderful as we got to debate and share with students from a variety of countries such as the US, Canada, Spain, Honduras, El Salvador, and many others.

MUN students debate about geopolitical landscapes and represent the positions of countries in the United Nations and all around the world. The Basic idea is to simulate what real-life situations happen in the United Nations and take difficult positions that are represented by real countries, in order to solve world issues.

During MUN, the goal is to be informed about current world issues to be better prepared for important United Nation positions in the future. Because of the MUN reputation, it allows for the program to be helpful when applying to colleges. Both the philosophy of IB and the mission of MUN align to achieve international mindedness and explore global contexts in order to have aware and passionate students.

We encourage the MBS community to take a part of MUN and build our school profile as a team! Some of the characteristics we look for in an MUN student is to be dedicated and devoted to attending and giving your best at the conferences, as well as to be well informed and passionate about not only your topics but current world issues, such as human rights, women empowerment, child protection, the global environment, global peace, etc.

MUN has evolved to become a more professional and research oriented environment. Our Model United Nations students are working very hard and hope that MUN grows in the MBS community.
